Create Jobs

Create Jobs helps 14-24 year olds from London’s host boroughs break into the creative and cultural sectors by providing work experience, mentoring and apprenticeships at places like Whitechapel Gallery, Live Nation and Barbican.

My role was to re-establish the fundamentals of the programme, to develop the communications narrative and to construct an activation plan that would generate interest from employers.

I started by defining the programme’s mission and objectives. From there I created a business development strategy that set out targets, target sectors, a contact database and roles and responsibilities.

I reviewed the three programme strands (work experience, mentoring and apprenticeship) and, where necessary, revised the structure and employer communications.

With the fundamentals in place, it was time to build the external Create Jobs sell. It was important for employers to understand the context and to inspire them to get involved. With a new focus on showcasing success stories and bringing the kids to life, the resulting presentation was clear and compelling.

I also created a case for support document, reviewed all comms materials and documentation, organised a digital review and workshop, created case studies and proof points, created a marketing strategy and activation plan, improved internal working practices, set up partnerships with London College of Fashion and D&AD and helped the team to secure a second round of funding.
