Naively when I asked Mr Bingo to send my 6 month old boy a Hate Mail postcard I thought he’d say something twisted but funny. This is just D_A_R_K.

The Fundamentals of Interactive Design

Proud moment! I’ve just received a copy of Mike Salmond and Gavin Ambrose’s book: The Fundamentals of Interactive Design. Wow, well done….what an achievement.

It was a pleasure to work with Mike & Gavin on & off for about a year helping to generate content. The book will help first year interactive design students design media that ‘engages, entertains and ‘sticks’ with the audience’.

‘Packed with examples of groundbreaking interactive design, this book provides a solid introduction to the principles of interactive communication and detailed case studies from world-leading industry experts.’

Guts & Glory: Mr Bingo

Third up in our Guts & Glory series, the delectable Mr Bingo talked about ‘people, information and things’ for the lucky folks at creative agency Momentum.

Suffice to say he had us all in stitches with his acerbic wit, tales of the inspired Hate Mail project, his toilet pose and cross-dressing as a teen.

For those of you who don’t know Mr Bingo…he’s the Justin Bieber of illustration no less. And his recent book is well worth a read.

Guts & Glory: Bompas & Parr

Working alongside creative agency Momentum Worldwide, I’m curating an inspirational programme called ‘Guts & Glory’, a series of talks by heroes who dare to go there.

We’re signing up a diverse range of UK innovators, ground breakers & game changers all with one thing in common: fearlessness. First up we’ve got the talented duo Bompas & Parr who, according to the Independent, are ’2 of 15 people who will define the future of arts in Britain’.

This innovative duo concept and install spectacular experiences such as Gin & Tonic clouds or turning Selfridges roof into a jell boating river, often working on an architectural scale with science and cutting edge technology.

This week they constructed a chocolate climbing wall at Alton Towers and as part of the London 2012 open weekend, they created the first outdoor scratch and sniff experience. We can’t wait for their talk and bespoke installation. Invite to follow!
